Food, Eating and Community in 'Emma'

  • 23 Victoria Street Clayfield Qld 4011 Australia (map)

Susannah Fullerton, President JASA, will be joining us at our next meeting on Saturday 28 March 2026 at 1pm. The meeting will be at our usual venue, St Columb’s, 23 Victoria Street, Clayfield.

Susannah’s illustrated talk will look at the importance of food, cooking food, offering food, giving food and eating (or not eating) food in Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’ which is the novel most filled with food detail. With ‘Emma’ being our focus novel of 2026, this talk will certainly enhance our understanding and appreciation of the novel as we get closer to our Study Afternoon on 6 June.
