Caroline Jane Knight: My Life with a Famous Relative

  • 23 Victoria Street Clayfield QLD 4011 Australia (map)

Please join us at 1pm Saturday 25 February for our first meeting of 2023 where Caroline Jane Knight is our special guest.

Imagine growing up in Chawton House, England and walking the corridors where Jane Austen walked, sitting at the same dining table and even eating from the same china. Despite the lack of her physical presence, Jane Austen was ever present in the four walls of the great family home, Chawton House. We are very happy to welcome Caroline Jane Knight, fifth great niece of Jane Austen who will share insights into her unique upbringing in Chawton House until the age of 18 years old and her motivations behind establishing the Jane Austen Literary Foundation.

Pre-orders are open for Caroline Jane Knight's book
'Jane & Me: My Austen Heritage'

To assist Caroline with how many copies of her book to bring, please place your pre-order by emailing info@jasabrisbane.org. Caroline will be available to sign your copy on the day.  Please do not pay JASA Brisbane for your copy - payment can be by cash or card on the day to Caroline.

Afternoon tea, Raffle and Regency Fair

We are reinstating our afternoon teas. Contributions are most welcome. There will also be a raffle to raise funds for Caroline's foundation 'Jane Austen Literacy Foundation'. Regency Fair will also be open. You can browse the items for sale from 12.30pm or during afternoon tea.
