20th Anniversary Meeting

  • 23 Victoria Street Clayfield QLD 4011 Australia (map)

To celebrate JASA Brisbane’s 20th Anniversary we have a very special meeting planned.

Susannah Fullerton, President of JASA, presents 'Saving Jane Austen's House', an illustrated talk about Jane Austen's beloved home. Jane Austen's Chawton home was in a very bad state of repair when, during WWII, a remarkable woman made plans to save it. Learn about Dorothy Darnell and her achievements from which we all benefit today. What do we want from a literary museum? What should be displayed, or not displayed? How does Chawton compare with other literary homes? Susannah will explore these questions and more in a wonderfully entertaining talk.
