Jewels of the Regency

Our next meeting will be held at 1pm, Saturday 1 October 2022 at our usual venue St Columbs, 23 Victoria Street, Clayfield.

In this talk, jewellery historian Adrian Dickens discusses jewels of the Regency era, as well as the three pieces (that are known of) relating to Jane Austen. Adrian Dickens is a jeweller with forty years experience in modern, estate and antique jewellery. He trained in England and in 2012 he founded his own business in Australia. He travels in Australia and internationally, sharing his knowledge about jewels and their history.

After Adrian's presentation we are holding a moderated discussion on the new adaptation of 'Persuasion' released on Netflix in 2022. Members will give a short five minute overview of their opinion of the new version of ‘Persuasion’ and then we will then open the meeting for discussion.

There will also be a short briefing on what the committee has planned for 2023. Regency Fair will also be open. Please come early to browse the lovely array of Jane Austen related items and books available for purchase. Remember to bring cash if you would like to purchase on the day. Proceeds from Regency Fair and our raffles assist to support our society.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Kind regards
