Professor Will Christie will guide us through a study afternoon on Jane Austen’s most controversial and divisive novel ‘Mansfield Park’.
Emeritus Professor Will Christie is a graduate of the universities of Sydney and Oxford, was Head of the Humanities Research Centre at the Australian National University from 2015 until his retirement in 2021, and before that Professor of English Literature at the University of Sydney. He was founding President of the Romantic Studies Association of Australasia (2010-2015), elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities in 2011 and Head of its English Section from 2015 to 2017, and until retiring was Director of Australasian Consortium of Humanities Researchers and Centres (2017-2021).
Professor Christie’s talk in 2023 ‘Portraiture in Pride & Prejudice’ in 2024 was very well received by our members and we are excited to have him back for our 2025 Study Afternoon.
More information regarding the content of this meeting will be provided closer to the date.
